Smile Please help this novice...

Hello everyone...

I've been breeding budgies and cockatiels for the past 20 or so years, but it's always been Colony breeding...

This year I decided to split my Greens and Blues - and see where it takes me...

My question is...

I have a stunning Dominant blue pied male who mated with an albino hen... They had five chicks... Three identical to the Dad and two identical to the Mum...

As I've never had young albino's before, I can't sex them, but I was wondering since it's sex link, is there a chance someone could tell me what they will be?

Hope you can help...

Thanks

Anj

Hi ,

The INO gene is sex_linked , only the cock can be split , if your HEN albino with your pied COCK have made 2 albinos, your cock is split of INO.
Because if your chicks are female they should be XinoY , so they take the Xino from the cock , and if they 're male , they are XinoXino so they take one Xino from the cock and one from the hen.
I hope that will help you. (Sorry for my english)
