Default New Budgies Mutations

Hi my lovely budgie pals!

So I've acquired three new budgies, thanks to hubby being so in love with the babies we had Yes, they are ALL in quarantine and hating it lol But I'm loving the sound of my house full of budgies, tweeting and squawking to each other from different rooms

Anyway, this is Tango & Cash They are and English/Show 18mth old bonded pair who my breeder friend couldn't sell, nobody seemed to want them I fell in love

Cash I believe is a Sky Blue, SF Violet Normal

Tango however, I think, is a ]Mauve, SF Yellowface II Normal? Please chime in!

My third new baby is Muffy She's not very old at all but I had to rescue her from the pet shop as she was the only budgie in there
I believe she is a Cobalt, Sf Violet, Clearflight Pied?

Woohoo for new budgies! Hubby says he will have to build me an aviary Here's to hoping

Congrstulations on the new additions Dee !

They're all lovely. I agree with you on Cash sky sf violet, but I'm not familiar with what enough mutation colors truly look like to say for the other two. I'm still learning .

I'm interested to hear about Tango too! I'm guessing gray with sf violet? Mauve tends to be a blue/gray.

Muffy is a little doll . I don't think she's cobalt sf violet, as it seems birds called cobalt with a violet factor are darker and intense color. Maybe just cobalt? I not sure.

Thanks Julie
My first thought when I saw Tango was that he was a Yellowface Grey but then I brought him home and in the light I noticed a lot of blue on his rump and vent feathers. Could be a violet factor on top of the grey but I'm still learning too. All I know is he is beautiful and LOVES attention!

Cash is easy lol She's definitely Sky, SF Violet

As for Muffy, I suppose she will molt out into her true colours before long as my guess is she's between 3 & 4mths old because none of those baby bars are receding yet and her eyes are big and black. But I'm glad I found her, my favourite pied mutation is a Clearflight.

Muffy will have a beautiful transformation I'm sure! Cash, Sky sf violet is definitely one I know and recognize. The mutation 'experts' will be along shortly to let us know about Tango and Muffy .

They are absolutely stunning, Dee!

Congratulations on your new additions

I believe Muffy is just cobalt, the blue looks to dark to be normal sky but on the other hand too blue to have any violet. I don't know if this is what you're seeing in person or not. As for Tango, I believe he is a mauve, yellowface II, sf violet budgie. He's definitely mauve--his cheek patches indicate he's a blue budgie and not a grey

I'm interested to see lots more of them!

So confusing!

Muffy's rump is almost the same shade as Cash's, very Sky Blue looking, that's why I thought she might have a violet factor. But she is just a baby and I don't believe she's molted yet so I suppose as she matures it will become a lot clearer (or not) lol

I absolutely knew Tango wasn't a grey! Which means you're probably right about baby Fluffy too SW, being a blue series budgie because they're almost exactly the same shade, except Fluffy's YF is darker which I guess means he is GF

Fluffy will obviously be Muffy's partner when they are both old enough as I believe Muffy is older than Fluffy I will go by Fluffy birth date as to when they are old enough to breed, so this time next year I'll be updating you all as I condition them Hoping for SF Spangle, Clearflights out of them

Still can't believe how fast they have all grown, they're all 5wks old now and look like real budgies!
