Default What color is this baby?

Hey I'm very confused about this budgie. He is white with yellowface kicking in, but his color still confuses me... It was very hard to take a photo where you can see his color at all, it's still not perfect but tried my best
Those are parents. Male is also split for ino and no idea what else. Mum is opaline.

Those are mum's parents

And this is the chick who gives me such a confusion:

Thanks soo much for advance

Wow, they're all beautiful, Anna!

My first thought is yellow face II cinnamon opaline. That would mean that Kanade would have to be also split for cinnamon and opaline, which depending on his parentage, could or couldn't be possible.

No spangle is present, so it's not that.

The other possibility which although very unlikely is still plausible, that is yellow face II cinnamon greywing, which means that both Kanade and Aquaia would have to be split for greywing. Because none of Aquaia's parents are greywing, she would have had to inherit it in split form.

Either way, this chick is going to be stunning! The mutation will become more apparent as he feathers up

It would be easier to tell when the chick is older.
What's throwing me off is the colour of the downy feathers which from the photos seem to be greyish coloured and that would rule out pied, greywing, opaline and cinnamon.

Ana, I noticed that, too. Are the downy feathers more grey or more white in real life?

On that second pic especially, they look very dark greyish and this is the colour typically seen on "normal" budgies.

Yeah, Kanade had opaline babies before

Tail feathers are... They look like stained with ash, but they are light on tips

It could be that the light distorting the colour of the down. The reason I'm asking is because in the first picture it appears to be almost white whereas I can see in the second photo that the down looks more normal grey, as Aluz pointed out.

If the baby's down actually is white, and not grey, they she is opaline

First question - are the parents alone in the cage or could someone else be involved?

It is certainly a different looking chick if those are the parents. My first thought is Spangle Opaline, but without a spangle parent that is not possible.

Does the mother have any pied patches? Perhaps it is a double factor dominant pied?

I am really just guessing as ti is not obvious at all yet, but once the feathers are through properly we will have more clues.
