I have a grey budgie, he doesnt have any hint of black on him. He is just plain grey with a white face. I was wondering what combination would have made him and what colour would he breed with to get the same coloured chick
Can we have a photo please? It sounds like you are describing a bird with a grey body and white wings? Or does it have grey wing markings? A photo will be necessary to work out what varieties are present.
He is very nice combination! He is actually a Mauve rather than Grey I think, is his tail dark blue or black? Mauve can look very much like grey and grey like mauve so sometimes it is the cheek patch and tail colour that decides it.
I think he is a Mauve (or maybe Violet Grey, depending on his tail colour) Opaline Full Bodied Greywing.
To get more the same you would need a blue (Cobalt, Mauve or Grey) hen that was either Clearwing, Greywing or Dilute.
A black tail indicates that he is Grey, his cheek patches look way too dark for a Grey though! Violet Greys can have darker cheek patches, but from those photos it is hard to tell the colour accurately. It is a lovely looking mix.
