Default Chicks: what do we see so far?

My first experience with greens; are they always so bright?! Mum is a light green opaline recessive pied, Dad is a green normal.

They are gorgeous! I am seeing a dark green normal, then two light green opalines, a light green normal and then another opaline but I can't see the body colour yet.

This tells you that the father is a dark green normal/opaline. Light greens are a lovely bright shade and the opaline compounds to it.

Question: if these are all green series chicks, do we know that both parents aren't split for blue, or just that at least one of them aren't?

From this small number of chicks, we don't really know anything about blue yet! You can only get blues from greens if both parents are split for it, but sometimes you get a totally green nest and in the next you get mostly blues.

So, if you never get any blues it proves that at least one parent is not split for blue, but it would require a few more chicks to come to that conclusion.
