Name that mutation!
Lets play the game of naming what color my chickie Pippin is! Her color is.... odd, IMHO. I've looked at all sorts of pictures for color mutations, but I can't for the life of me figure out what color she is! Here is my flickr album, maybe you can figure it out? How about her gender, while your looking at the pictures, what do you think?[email protected]/?saved=1

Because you have under ten posts, you can't post clickable links. It is due to spam possibilities. So I posted it for you:)

And as for the mutation, sorry I can't help:o. Usually I'm okay with mutations, but this one has kind of stumped me. I think I might be able to take a shot. I think it could be yellowface type 2 grey recessive pied male. But I'm not even 50% sure on this, so I'll let the mutation experts take a shot at it.

Very very beautiful budgie though. I do love the colouring!:)

Thanks!! If It helps the mother was Lutino, and the father was green. We were told that Pippin is an english budgie, but I'm not sure. What do you guys think?

Flash is making it tricky to be sure, but i can see some yellow in the wings and body. The yellow in the face is easy to see.

The chick looks to be a YF2 recessive pied grey :)

I get the recessive pied part, but what does YF2 stand for? :S:S:S

Yellow face type 2

YF2 recessive pied grey

It is a T2 yellow face recessive pied grey and it looks female in the photos but it could be that the flash is making the cere look white. A male recessive pied has a pink cere.

As far as being part English; It doesn't look it but they are the same breed anyway , it's just that the show type have been selectively bred to increase the size. The budgies in England are not all big, they have the smaller pet type as well as the larger show type
