Default Understanding mutations

Hello everyone! So I have been doing some research on budgie mutations and I think i'm still not fully understanding what color the bird will ultimately show.

So this is what I think i'm understanding so far:
Blue color factors-white based
Green color factors-yellow based
-->Yellow based colors are dominant over white.

So for example, if I had a 100% lutino budgie and crossed it with a Violet-Normal Green budgie all chicks would be Lutino-Violet Normal Green?.

So because yellow is dominant would my babies have some green and yellow and the violet be hidden?

Please correct me if I am misinterpreting! I am trying to understand.

A lutino budgie is ultimately a green series budgie. The Ino gene removes all the melanin from the feathers making the green turn to yellow, the black eyes turn to pink as well as the feet and tongue which will be pink and the beak will also have a lighter colour close to orange.
It's best to think that green is dominant to blue in order to avoid confusion.
From that pairing you would have 100% green series, yellow based chicks.

Lutino is a sex link mutation, so if you have a female visual lutino and a normal green budgie, all chicks would be green like the father and the male chicks will carry the Ino gene (that makes lutinos/albinos) from the mother and later on these males would be able to produce a few visual lutino females if paired with a mate of a normal mutation.

Chicadee, as your questions have been answered, I'm going to close this thread.

If you have any more questions about mutations at a later date, just simply ask one of the staff to open the thread again.
