From what I can tell, this little one is most likely female and appears to be a sky blue yellowface opaline budgie. She may have one violet factor, but you won't be able to tell unless she's fully feathered.

My budgie girl is sky blue yellowface type II opaline, so she will most likely look very similar to her

Is there a particular reason you wanted a boy?

There is no reason to feel you need to have a male and female pair for them to be friends.

Two females can become quite good friends just as can two males budgies.

I have two females housed together and they are the best of friends.
They love to feed one another and preen each other.

Got more pictures from a breeder. Anyone has a better guess? Girl or boy? Would appreciate.

If you know the mutations of the parents, that will help as well.

If only the father is Opaline, (or split for it) then this chick is female.
If the mother is Opaline, then there is a chance that this chick could be a male.

As of right now, it's definitely too early to tell the gender by the colour of it's cere.

She still looks female, if anything. I agree that knowing the mutations of the parents may help in saying for certain
