Default New mom and dad ...

Hi everyone. Is it possible to guess what color babies might come out of this pair. Please give you best estimates. I do not know what genes they carry unfortunately.

You have a beautiful pair of budgies!

The male looks to be a DF violet cobalt dominant pied budgie, and his mate is cobalt yellowface II opaline greywing.

All their chicks will be SF violet, all chicks will be split for greywing, all chicks will be blue series.

Half the chicks will be dominant pied, half the chicks will be YF II. All male babies will be split to opaline.

However, have you bred budgies before? If not, be sure you have done all the necessary research over a long period of time to know you have as much experience as possible to successfully breed your budgies.

Thank you for your reply )
This is not my butds snd i'm not breeding. I'm waiting to get a baby from that breeder and she currently has eggs from this pair. So just curious what might come up as she doesn't know.

I'm pretty sure though the female is DELUTE , i included the picture. Is is blue series or green series ?

Thank you for clarifying

She is beautiful! As I said, she is not dilute, but rather greywing opaline. The opaline combined with the greywing dilutes the body colour more than than just greywing would do, making her look more dilute.

Since she is cobalt in color, that makes her blue series. The yellowface II is what makes her appear green, as the yellow bleeds into the blue body colour
