Default Is this the spangle gene coming out?

I currently have 4 chicks in the nest box. The older two are starting to feather out but their colors seem really indistinct and blurry. Is this because they are spangles?

It's actually more likely that it's because of a recessive pied gene, as this will give the spangle marking a more "Grizzled" look and not crisp and clean.

Do you have pictures of the parents?

Time will tell! However, they look to be like their dad so far and there could well be spangle there, the second chick certainly looks to be a spangle. They are missing a lot of markings due to being pieds like their father.
