Birds&Boxers is on a distinguished road
Default What mutation is Sunny?

This is Sunny. I took her in a few days ago, and all I know for sure is that her previous home had her for about a year and a half, so she's at least 1.5 years old. Based on the info I've found on this site I'm guessing her mutation is Double Factor Yellow Face ll. Can anyone tell me if I'm even remotely close? I've had cockatiels for years, but budgie genetics are new to me and I find it very interesting. She won't ever be bred, just kept as a loved pet, but I'm curious anyway. These pictures are taken in natural light, but she's afraid of my phone so I had to zoom in a bit and they are a little blurry. In person I can definitely see some yellow tones on her chest feathers, and there is a yellow spot on the back of her head. And yes, I realize there is something off about her right wing, but that's a topic for another thread!

Hi there, is the body colour in the photos accurate? It looks like she could be mauve or mauve violet, and she is also sf yellow face 1 and split for recessive pied.

Mauve (violet?) yf1/rec pied.
