Default Picking up these babies tomorrow...

I think the "violet" one (that's what the breeder calls the color, looks plain old blue to me lol) is a regular budgie, but I'm curious about the white one's mutation? The breeder says it has "turquoise" feathers underneath.

They're adorable The white one is probably a sky blue recessive pied (hence any traces of turquoise feathers - can't see any from the picture but that's pretty normal for recessive pied budgies).

The second one looks like a cobalt single factor violet normal budgie

Do you have any name ideas yet?

Congratulations on your cute new budgies!

The ‘blue’ one is considered violet. They aren’t literally purple violet, as that color is genetically impossible for budgies. That one is a female, and the other appears to be male.

Edit: upon taking another good look tonight, there is a good chance it can be a male not female. Waiting for your new pics to confirm .

Thank you! If the violet turns out to be female as Julie says below (breeder says it's a male) I guess I'd go with Tallulah-Belle (to differentiate from the 1st Tallulah) Not sure what I'm going to call the white one yet...

P.S. You can see the "turquoise" feathers in this pic (they look blue to me)

Thank you! Very excited! I wanted 2 males... the breeder has been telling me that the violet one is a male...she's gone back and forth on the white one male, female now she's saying male again...I figured I'd just wait and take my own pictures when I got them home and see what everyone thinks

Those aren't super great photos to confirm gender - do you have another photo of the violet one?

I've asked the breeder for better photos but they're all pretty much the same... I'll take my own tomorrow after I pick them up.

The babies are lovely. Please make sure that you observe the quarantine rules, it is really important since you have recently lost a bird and you have stated that there are no avian vets in your area should any issues arise. Hope they settle in well.

Actually, I agree it’s best to see better pics to confirm gender. Upon looking again, it’s too hard to tell with the side view.

I usually don’t say anything unless I’m sure, but that was before my coffee sorry!
