Baby was very wriggly & hard to photograph LOL!It is Yellow head back & wings, purple blue on belly & around vent & has a greenish rump.I know it is a SF spangle just wondering what other mutation it could have. Can try to get better pics if these aren't very good.

Definitely a yellow face. I suspect pied as well. Very pretty, at least what can be seen. :)

Oh my - what a beauty - I can't wait to see more of this one!

Lovely pair as well - if they produce more like this you may have a real find.

Oh my goodness  Look at that bright face and belly!
I would love to have such a beautiful budgie as a part of the flock :D You're very lucky to have such a stunning new baby ;)
Hope to keep seeing pictures of him!

He looks like a Violet (Mauve DF Violet?) Clearflight Pied Yellowface Spangle male. And he's gorgeous!

nev90 12-21-2009 03:01 AM

The chick is a yellow face recessive pied spangle. Both parents must be split for recessive pied and one of them must be carrying violet. The violet could have come from either parent the hen is visibly grey but she could also be violet. The yellow face gene will have come from the cock bird

He will be a beauty when he is fully feathered
