Our SF-goldenfaced mauve and SF-goldenfaced dom. pied sky blue produced their first clutch. The chicks came out as we expected for the most part. We had a surprise opaline. Didn't know father was split for that. What has me guessing a bit is the yellow/golden faces. The three eldest have had bright yellow in their face, wings, and tail since pin stage. I am guessing they are single factors. The fourth is the white faced opaline. The fifth is my question. We thought she was white faced until some very soft yellow showed up in her tail feathers. Her mask is only barely off-white, almost imperceptably so. Would this be a double factored golden face with extremely limited yellowing (and will the yellow deepen after the first molt?). My impression was that you couldn't tell a double vs. single-factored goldenface til after the molt, but now I'm thinking I was incorrect in that assumption. If I could figure out how to insert a photo, I would.
