I have 4 more babies left for sale and I wanted to put pairs up to bond for this fall. I'm not sure when I'll put them together but I want to have my pairs picked out. I am looking for yellows, blues, and greys. Pieds are completely fine. These are my pairs. I'm not too good on pairing and outcomes.
Normal green split for albino, pied, and opaline
Dominant pied cobalt
Double factor recessive pied
opaline greywing grey green
Normal greygreen 1 dark factor
albino (mother to Firecracker and Flash)
type 2 yellowface opaline greywing sky blue
Faith (I would prefer not to breed her)
double factor dominant pied
type 2 yellowface grey dominant pied greywing
type 2 yellowface grey cinnamon domnant pied
I would like to breed Laqueesha so I can get males split for cinnamon. I would also like to breed Princess since it would be her last clutch because she is 3 and I don't want to push it. She is a great layer and a great mom.j
I was thinking for Yellows would be Hope and Butter
Blues: Bebe and Princess
Greys: Dewey and Laqueesha.
Not sure please I would love to hear your opinions.
I would love to have the answer, but I'm pretty new to breeding. At a guess: The sets you have picked out would give you the results you are looking for. Sorry I'm not more help! They are all beautiful
Firecracker Light green/albino, pied & opaline with Butter Yellow face greywing dominant pied grey. Chicks would include lutino, albino & opaline females: And dominant pied & normal males & females. Colours include blue, grey, green & grey green. There would only be recessive pied or greywing if both parents have the gene.
Bebe Dominant pied cobalt with Flash Opaline light green. As Flash is split for blue you would get cobalt, sky blue, light green & dark green. About half would be dominant pied
Mango Opaline greywing grey green with Kiwi Yellow face opaline greywing sky blue. The female chicks would be opaline greywing & the males greywing. If mango is split for blue youd get grey, blue, green, greygreen & yellow face chicks
Dewey Grey green (looks like a yellow face grey) & Laqueesha Yellow face grey cinnamon dominant pied. Would produce normal & dominant pied grey & blues most with yellow faces (If Dewey is grey green also green & grey green)
You have Hope included with the males but looks female in the photo. If he is male paired to Princess the chicks would mostly be normals unless Princess is split for recessive pied or masking another mutation
Firecrackers mother was albino so wouldn't he had the albino gene not the lutino? How does that work?
Albino & lutino are the same gene. Lutino is the green form & albino is the blue form of the ino gene. Because Firecracker is green and he has inherited the ino & blue genes from his mother he could produce both lutinos & albinos

If she was mated to Bebe she would produce normal blues & dominant pied blues. You wouldn't get any albinos unless Bebe had an ino gene. If she was mated to Hope or Mango the chicks would be mostly green

If you mean yellow like Hope, your recessive pied, you would need a hen that had a recessive pied gene. If Hope was mated to Butter a lot of the chicks would be normal green unless either Butter has a recessive pied gene or Hope has a greywing gene. Firecracker should produce some yellow lutinos with any hen but you might not get one in every clutch
When you are breeding from birds without knowing their ancestry you will always get some surprises
Thank you so much nev! It sounds like Bebe and Flash will be prettier than Bebe and Princess. Firecracker was bred to Faith above and had 1 albino. They were all white/blue dominant pied, a green opaline, green dominant pied, and the 1 albino. Too bad I don't have another blue male of age for Princess. If I were to get a lutino from Firecracker it would be female and if I bred her with Hope, what would they be? Would they just be normal greens?
