Yellow faces - light and dark
I have two budgies id'd as YF2 on TB. One is a greywing with a very bright face, and the other is younger and has a very pale yellow face. Will the pale yellow get brighter with a moult? Or is there a single and double factor involved?

Baci and Jehan side by side:

Thanks in advance?

if they are both yf2 then the young ones yellow will darken and spread as he ages, but it could also be a df and sf thing too.... not very helpful...

No, you have been very helpful. I am really hoping that her face will darken, as the yellow doesn't show up well now. She's only 4 mos.old and just started to show her first pin feathers on her head.

Some YF budgies are brighter then others. What do their parents look like? That should give you a good indication of what they are going to look like. You should keep some sort of photo journal to so you can remember the difference.

I got one from a pet store and the younger from a bird store. No idea what the parents look like unfortunately.

Thanks Zeena, he is the reigning beauty of the flock.
