Default Mum+Dad = ?

This is Eric & Lottie (Dad & Mum)

I've been advised that Dad is an opaline Colbalt and mum a dark green Opanline:




And this is Buddy their first born. In the pictures you can't see so clearly but he is really violet is it possible for colours to be split? I can see the opaline for sure - just not sure on the colouring. Or am I on the complete wrong route?

from those parents all the chicks will be opaline, and there is no reason why the chick can't be violet. either parent can have the violet gene, it can be fairly subtle on skyblue but make it look quite cobalt so the male could actually be a violet skyblue. or the hen could be a violet green, again it can be very hard to pick out in a green.
