What mutations in hen & cock birds do you
need to breed cinnamons? Just curious.

Hi Tegan,
If you breed a:
Cinnamon cock x cinnamon hen = all cinnamon chicks,
Cinnamon cock x normal hen = normal split cinnamon cocks & cinnamon hens
Normal Split cinnamon cock x cinnamon hen = Some cinnamon cocks & cinnamon hens
Normal cock x cinnamon hen = Normal split cinnamon cocks & normal hens.

Hope thats it? Someone with more knowledge might correct me , hope this helps

about? Surely from other mutations?

You do need a visible cinnamon and just pair that to your chosen hen.

You are curious how cinnamon produces Tegan, we created mutations by breeding together two birds of the same new developed mutations, in this case two cinnamons.

we can see these mutations in the wild sparrows with white on their wings and pied blackbirds , sadly the chance of two of these finding partners of the same mutation are slim due to the millions of these species in the wild.

we can do somethings that nature struggles to do, not many things though i might add

as nev said, originally it would have been a mutation on a gene that someone recognised as something new and bred more from.
