I plan on breeding two pairs next year. I haven't finalized anything, but the possibilites are:
1) Grey Bird X Vera (cinnamon grey cock X grey green normal hen)
This is the pair I'm most curious about. Will the fact that they are both greys have a darkening effect on their offspring? I know the females will be cinnamon and the males will be normal, but I'm curious about body color.
2) Purl X Bruce (opaline greywing hen X YF2 spangle opaline cock)
This is the pair I'm most excited about. I believe Purl is violet factored. It's difficult to get a photo that shows how purple she really is. And I'm thinking since the purple usually shows in cobalts that she is a cobalt with diluted body color due to being greywing. Bruce has very few markings on his wings, and they are grey. So I'm thinking he's greywing. Other than spangle, no one has remarked on his wing marking mutations. I'm also thinking he is cobalt as he is much darker than my normal sky blue hen.
3) Malcolm X Bette (sf dominant pied green cock X normal sky blue hen)
I would be hoping for some blue pieds, but I understand this would only happen if Mal is split for blue.
4) Luna X Kernel (grey green cinnamon clearwing hen X lutino cock)
I haven't studied much on this possible combination, but I'm guessing I'd have lutino hens and grey green cocks. No idea about the wing mutation outcomes.
Any suggestions of pairs or outcome possiblities will be happily received.
The one I'm most curious about is the first one and if the body color with be super dark grey since they're both grey. Thanks, everyone!
