Might it just be the hidden side of the mutation gene? The way that I understand genetics works that there are two sides to a budgies mutations. The seen/unseen. The dominant/recessive gene, if that makes any sense.
When I saw the first photo, I thought the same thing as Nev. I also thought you were pulling our leg. Two inos will only produce inos. And two hens will produce nothing.
But the new photo does look like a male. Is there any possibility that the red eyes on one or both of them are just a trick of the camera flash? Because the only way I can figure getting those results from those parents, is if one of them is a Dark Eyed Clear instead of an ino. And then maybe that second chick is a clearflight pied.
