Question Thought I knew what the parents mutations were. Guess not....

Ok for starters- I do not colony breed, I only Cage Breed 1 Pair per cage- So I know who the parents are I just thought I had their mutations down pat or at least for the visuals

but I thought this baby was dominant pied- Actually it just dawned on me last night she has no clear band - I was just going by wings- and parents Mom is dominant Pied, Dad is Double Factor Dominant pied

I however am Starting to think she's clear flight pied - if so i'm 85% sure it came from dad But I've only bred dad to this mate, and I've never got any normal's Which I wasn't expecting since both were Dominant pied I was only expecting Single factor Dominant Pied and Double Factor Dominant Pied.

But right now he is set up with a Visual normal (splits are not known I have never bred her but where i got her had tons of Recessive pied so most likely she's split to recessive pied - but they haven't even started to breed yet so we'll see later on that!)

what I want to know is this
Is this baby Clear Flight pied OR just a poorly marked Dominant Pied? Also what is the chances of this baby being a DF Yellow face - the ones that are actually yellow face but look like normal white faces since BOTH parents are Yellow face mom being type 1 dad being either type 2 or Golden face( pretty sure he is golden face) I can't remember the percentages of an outcome for this scenario I know she can also just be a Normal white face w/out the yellow face at all.

The baby in question - she was hatched 9-21-11 and was raised by English Budgies she was an unexpected 3rd clutch and I wasn't allowing her mom to have a 3rd one Thought I removed dad in time but didn't.

Parents:
Mom - Yf Dominant Pied Violet Sky blue
Belly shot - she was showing off for the camera today

the dad - Bandit - Who i thought was just a Double Factor Dominant Pied (well in he Pied section I know the rest lol)

His coloring and clear flights are just like my Nicky who is pied and has a perfect white patch.
Looks like his little white patch is a little almost not there but sort of kind of isn't. Will the patch get bigger or is that it?

I love that upside down crazy budgie.

nope this is what she'll always look like

I was leaning more towards poorly marked Dominant pied - meaning she does not have the clear band Dominant pieds are supposed to have

but a breeder friend of mine thinks clear flight pied since she has no band like dominant pieds do

she has no clear area's really The 2 pics of me holding her makes it look like she does but I had her feathers messed up from holding her- she wasn't really liking me bothering her lol

and thanks - I like the crazy mama Budgie too she can be silly when she wants to and a big butt head when she wants too as well

Just because there is no white band doesn't mean that it is not dominant pied.

So she is dominant pied? and I'm not losing my mind after all LOL (well I know I am but that's a different story lol)

I've just never seen a dominant pied that didn't have at least a Small clear area on their stomach

just by looking at her front and ignoring her wings all together and If I didn't know better I would of thought she was a Normal non pied - But I know better plus the wings say she's a pied

Oh and what do you think the chances of her actually being a yellow face is? Since both parents are a type of Yellow face.

Ooooh this is interesting!! I never really thought about it, but Muncie doesn't have any dominant pied markings on his belly at all either, thought from his hatch cert he is a dom pied. His first molt is finished and he still only has one small white mark next to his leg and one single white feather on his chest. His purple is a DEEP purple now though!!

I was reading a post of yours from in the past - you said he was baby #2 from Bandit and Mystic - he is from Bandit and mystic but his leg band Number is 6 - If it doesn't say 6 I may of Given you the wrong hatch certificate but he is a Violet Grey wing and He's dominant pied and now his sister(This one) matches him neither one have the belly bar LOL

I kept the other 2 that was born with Muncie - Man how they've changed! I can only imagine how much he's changed.

the Youngest from their clutch I wouldn't of ever thought would look the way he does. but he's so pretty I'm glad I kept him even though I thought I was keeping 2 girls and ended up keeping a boy and a girl lol ..
