Default Green budgie chicks with blue pin feathers?

Hello.
i have 3 budgie chicks which are 17, 15 and 13 days old.
The older 2 are going to be green as they have bright yellow pin feathers coming through on their wings, but the issue i have is that they both have blue pin feathers coming through along their back.
They do not have the yf gene as their parents are;

Male sky blue dominant pied split for opaline and cinnamon
Female violet green spangle opaline.

And the parents to the female are;

Female Green opaline
male violet blue spangle clearflight pied

(i know the yellow faced gene cant be carried as its a dominant gene but i thought id just make my point )

I was wondering, are the pins appearing to be blue due to the violet gene?

Thanks

Your female is split to blue

Also just because you do not see the yellow face doesn't mean they don't have it.

there is a Yellow face called Double Factor Yellow Face- Visually the bird is "normal" White mask BUT in reality(gene wise) its a Yellow face

How far up are these "blue pins" ?

is it the rump or the tail?

Green birds have navy blue tails.

Can you post some pictures - those help a lot of us more than a written description

oh i had no idea of the double factor YF how interesting!
Well the tail feathers are yellow on the first chick as he is a pied and the tail feathers on the second chick is kinda whiteish..im thinking hes a spangle
Oh the blue feathers are coming through quite a bit all along the back underneath the down. their looking kinda turquose now
i wil have to post a picture so you can see them properly.
it would be amazing if they were double factor yf
thank so much for your help

Your welcome and that one sounds like its going to be Sky blue
Since the mom is split to blue and dad is blue you'll get both greens and blues

lol If they are they can join my Unusual one - Kaylee I know what she is visually But I've never ever seen another one like her

Here is mine - she's a Yellow Face Sky Blue Dominant Pied Grey wing - She may also be Clear flight pied (She had 1 Dominant pied parent 1 Clear flight pied parent)

she has 100% no color on her belly other than the creamy color the yellow turned into - it used to be Stark white until her yellow spread more she has a tiny bit of color on her rump and some around her neck but Very very little in any places. Up until she was 4-6 months old (i'd have to dig through the pics to get an exact age) I didn't think she was going to have markings at all LOL just be a creamy white-yellow bird with no markings at all lol

How unusual. She sure is beautiful though
Hey, we could make an 'Unusual' club! haha. Im sure theres other people here with birds that dont quite meet the standard of their mutation

I have trouble with the clearflight mutation. I had one called Blue (which is actually the grandfather to these chicks) and he had a little band across his belly but only his flight feathers were clear. Some people said he was dominant, then some people said he was clearflight.

Im usually ok with mutations but ones like greywings and clearbodies totally confuse me haha

I sometimes get Dominant pied and Clear wing mixed up - but it seems lately the mutations are not going by what they should(because too many people breed who don't know what they're doing and just throw em' all together and let em' go to town )

But Normally a clear flight pied has no clear band on the front of them - they may have a clear area located up at the neck

but its usually just the flight feathers that determine it to be a clear flight

this chicks dad was easy both parents were clear flight pied and not mixed with Dominant pied(which can make it hard to tell if they're dominant or clear flight or both lol) the only thing on him clear was his flights But when he was a baby he actually looked silver(he's a grey wing) but one he molted he didn't look so silvery any more and you were able to see his violet he was actually a Violet Grey Grey wing Opaline Clear Flight pied and he he's always been very hard to get a good pic of either he comes out way to light -where he looks white or way too dark and he looks dark grey I never did get a exact color pic I was only able to get "this as close as it gets to his true colors" type of pic lol

Oh wow. didnt think she could get even more beautiful than she already is!

yeah well thats the thing. Blue had all the characteristics of a CFP except for that little band. It was litterally a little splodge running across the belly mabey it was a fault.
But yeah i agree with the whole breeding when having no basic genetic knowledge.

I once came across someone who was breeding a grey budgie with a green budgie as she owned them as pets. I happened to ask why she wanted to breed them. and the response i got was

''I want to get one that is half green half grey''

when i asked if she ment a grey-green she looked at me stupid and said

''No. One that is half green and half grey''

Still makes me chuckle to this day
