What is the result when a dominant pied and a recessive pied budgie mate?
Hi! I've been making some punnett squares for the different colour mutation combinations of my budgies. But I don't quite know what would happen if a recessive pied and a dominant pied budgie were to mate.
Lemon is recessive pied (rr) and Lime is single factor dominant pied (Pp). When combined in a punnett square, I get Pr, Pr, pr, pr. Does that mean 50% of the chicks would be dominant pied split for recessive pied, and 50% would be normal split for recessive pied?
RR - normal
Rr - normal split for recessive pied
rr - recessive pied
PP - dominant pied
Pp - dominant pied split for normal
pp - normal
