Not positive, but I would say top is going to be either recessive or df dominant. Bottom is dominant.
Don't take my word 100% though. Sorry. Def better off waiting for Lindsey or another "budgie encyclopedia". ;).

Does he have iris rings, Rick?

If not, he could be a recessive pied. He could also be a combination of the two.

I agree with Erin. The yellow one (male) is probably recessive pied or combined dominant-recessive pied. Possibly also spangle due to lack of black markings.

The green one (male in 2nd and 3rd pics) is normal light green split to recessive pied.

Thank you. They are 2 of the original 6. When I got them and asked I just wrote down pied and I am updating my files and tried looking at the genetics pages but couldnt figure them out. This morning I thought to look at the parentage chart and I see both of Sonnys(YELLOW) parents were RP and 1 of the grandparents DP and 1 RP and the great grandparents the same 1 RP-1 DP.

Dominant pied is usually visual (can be masked by DF Spangle, et al). Can you post pictures of Sonny's parents and grandparents?

I dont have pics of the grand parents. I can ask the breeder as she has pics of all her babies.

SusanBudgies 10-28-2012 09:33 PM

The reason I asked for pics of Sonny's parents is I'm wondering whether either one appears to be combined DP-RP rather than RP.
