Thank you, everyone! They seem to be settling in okay, though they are quiet which is to be expected. About my only concern right now is I've not seen them drink anything, but they don't look dehydrated so I guess they're okay. I've put a small bowl in the bottom of their cage - well clear of their perches - as well as their bottles, just so they can get to it easily. I'll give them some spinach (which the breeder said they love) today as well, just in case they'll eat it and get a bit of fluid from that.
Therm, the breeder said Mal (front) was 18 weeks, and Merc (back) was 14 weeks. The size difference is noticeable! They had a fight over pecking order yesterday which was quite interesting to watch, and I think it was merc who won in the end, despite being smaller.
Once they've settled and I've made some steps towards taming them I'll take some new photos and put them in the photo thread =D
Thank you again <3
Budgies don't drink much and can be sneaks about it as well. You can move it close to favourite perch for them while they settle in. Depending on if the breeder used to put food, water etc at the bottom of their cage it might take them a while to be comfortable going down there to start with.
And size will have nothing to do with the pecking order, strangely enough. Once they get established, they should be fine.
Thanks, Therm! I did suspect they might be being sneaky about it
They've already made me laugh. Malvolio is vocal when he is inclined. He likes to give Mercutio lectures, while Mercutio just gets right up in his face and sort of stands on tiptoes and fluffs up all his feathers at him.
They were crooning to each other last night though, which was lovely to hear!
