Default Introducing Slugfest and Swoop

I'm not new to budgie slavery (heeheee), but it has been a while since I last had a budgie. Divebomb passed away 2 years ago and I wasn't planning on more birds beyond the misfits I currently have. Well, the secretary at the parrot club said someone brought in two budgies, a year old, male and female, who were needing a home.

Twist my rubber arm!

After a mild debate with another lady (She was trying to convince her mom to allow her to bring home these guys- it was a no go, LOL), fate deemed it acceptable that I bring them home.

SO here we have Slugfest (male)

And Swoop (female)

And if you can tell me what their mutations are, I will love you forever I SUCK at budgie genetics.

Slugfest and Swoop are beautiful!

Slugfest (that name!! I love it ) is a sky blue violet single factor golden face spangle budgie, and Swoop is a light green recessive pied budgie

If you have another photo of Slugfest, that would be great! Just to confirm which violet factor he is (single or double; leaning towards single factor right now but want to make sure).

I hope to see more of them soon!

Hi! to Talk Budgies

Slugfest is one of my very favorite mutations (glad StarlingWings described what it is called). I just love that visual combination.

Swoop is a pretty little girl as well!

Glad you decided to join us and looking forward to seeing you around the forums.

Thank you everyone for your kind words

Slugfest is named after a Transformer. So is Swoop, but I wanted a unique name for Slugfest and Slugfest he became, LOL. It's a tradition in my home to name my birds after Transformers. I once had a budgie named Buzzsaw. She lived up to her name!

As for pictures - I have more! This is the best one of Slugfest. Poor guy. I startled him while he was napping.
