The other day I was wandering about a local bird shop (very knowledgeable and professional folk; not your typical "pet store" birds) and after chatting up a storm with a Corella Cockatoo and being a perch for a very friendly Black-Capped Lory, I made my way to their Budgies and had one of those instant "that's the one" moments. I already had my quarantine cage set up and a new flight cage in the mail (it actually arrived THAT day, go figure; it was sitting on the stoop when we got home).
So I would like to introduce you to Peep! I think he's adjusting fairly well so far. He's eating, drinking, pooing, and looks bright-eyed and curious. I have his quarantine cage set up on my computer desk so I can talk and sing to him when I'm doing my thing. He's just the most precious thing (my mom actually cried when I showed her his picture; "prettiest budgie she's ever seen" lol). I have hopes that he and Fizzy will enjoy each others' company.
I am SO in love with Little Peep!!
He is just the perfect picture of what a baby budgie should be and I adore that mutation -- it is probably my favorite (and I do NOT have a budgie with that particular mutation.... go figure)
I'm sure Peep is settling into his new home wonderfully, he's lucky to have you as his adoptive Mom.
I hope he and Fizzy become best friends once quarantine is over!
Hi Carly and Peep. What a very handsome, sweet baby little Peep is. I do hope you'll post regular pictures and updates as I'd love to see a lot more of him. I'd love to see pics of Fizzy too, if you're able to post some.
