I joined this site several years ago when I was living in Hawaii and being flooded with rescue and foster budgies, and had a couple of my own, but ultimately my husband asked me to please stop fostering budgies, and since my own untame budgies has bonded with some of the fosters, I allowed them to be placed together.
For quite some time my life was budgie-free, which is a terrible way to be! In January I got a sweet little lutino female American budgie and nursed her through a crop infection. Her name is Carlin and she thinks she is the biggest bird in the flock.
Today I brought home Fillion, my first ever English Budgie (but does he look like he might be half American to you guys?) and I have named him Fillion. He is extremely sweet, but a little bit hesitant still.
Fillion is in quarantine (hence the dowel perches) and we are waiting on results from the disease tests. Quarantine makes me crazy! But the peace of mind is more than worth it.
Here are a few of my other flock members, but not all
Tsali the Congo African Grey
Rebel, a blue IRN, and Adolin, a DF violet pallid IRN
Isana, a cinnamon green IRN
Royal, a violet turquoise IRN
Kaleo, a violet green IRN
Sunshine, Chief, and Casanova, three of our cockatiels
