So the actual same-parents brother didn't work out, but today we brought home a new little floofball to join our family.
I swear, there can't be anything much harder than walking away from a bunch of babies with only one in hand. Y'all, the cuteness was overwhelming!
DD12 did manage to pick just one, and chose this little blue and white guy (oh, please confirm he's boy!), and he's quarantined in another part of the house while we let him settle in and get to know him. I'm sure he knows DJ is here (as does the rest of the neighborhood), but while he's eating already, he hasn't made a peep yet.
The breeder said he was "6-8 weeks," so unlike DJ, we aren't sure his true age. If he's on the 6 week end of the spectrum, is there anything we should be watching for as signs of trouble? DJ was 12 weeks when we brought him home, and adjusted quickly and easily to life with us.
While we were brainstorming name ideas in the car, DH jokingly said "Snowcone" and somehow it stuck. So, here's Snowcone, aka Snowy...
One the car ride home -
Sleepy baby, safe at home -
The lighting isn't great in this one (the first two are daylight, this was in the evening), but we're super curious what his mutation is. Yes, his wings are clipped really short.
No, we don't intend to keep them that way.
