Default Meet Techno!

Thanks again so much for all the advice and information from this forum, I'll probably be asking for a bunch more now that I have my first budgie, Techno!

Techno is a sweetie, I'm having a bit of trouble gendering them, if anyone here could help it'd be appreciated. The cere color I think indicates female? But, I'd like to be sure, I might be wrong.

Techno's a cutie regardless, the shop I got them from hand raises their budgies, it makes them a bit more expensive but they're already used to hand perching. When we got Techno home they almost refused to leave my hand for the perch, being scared by the new surroundings and all.

That being said, I got them around 8:00 PM last night, as of writing this it's almost 8:30 AM so, it's not even been a full 24 hours yet. Obviously Techno is still in the, "I'm too spooked to move" stage. Haven't really begun exploring their surroundings or making any noise. However, they have a freshly changed container of Millet and Water waiting for them when they get thirsty and hungry!

So, that in mind, apologies for the poor pictures through the bars. Even if they're hand tamed I kind of want to keep interactions to a minimum, from all I've read it seems like it's best to give them space on the first day so they can calm down and acclimate to their new cage, so I'm not exactly keen on removing them just to get a better picture.

Promise I'll give you all some better ones when Techno is more comfortable, I'm just very excited and wanted to share, especially since folk seemed eager to see pictures in previous threads when I finally got them.

Thanks again Talk Budgies!

He's precious! From the picture, he looks like a little boy However, the images you posted aren't the best to be determining gender. I figure you probably can't get better ones right now, so just get some more close up ones when you get a chance

Congratulations! I'm sure he'll settle in more soon

Got some better pics of Techno today:

Unfortunately, so far, they don't seem to want to get on my finger and step out of the cage. They're very quiet today, hope they slept well. (They were quite chatty last night, I'm a bit worried they didn't sleep very well and are tired today) Shame too, I got them some Kale at work as a treat, it's probably best I leave them alone for now, maybe play a radio so the music helps sooth them a bit.

To me, from the picture posted, I think Techo is a female. As you've started another thread in "Budgie Gender" asking the same question I'll close this thread now.
