Goldenwing will become famous soon enough
Default Introducing Peridot!

Hello everybudgie!

I am happy to introduce my new feathered friend, Peridot. I just brought him home on Saturday. I am fairly certain he is a boy, but let me know if you think I am wrong. So far, he is still getting adjusted to his new home, but I have caught him grinding his beak in contentment a few times.

I am not sure about his mutation. He looks like a light green greywing SF pied with maybe a violet factor to my untrained eye. What do you think, mutation experts?

Goldenwing (and Peridot)

P.S. I have tried to change my signature but keep getting an error message.

He's stunning, congratulations He's definitely a boy, and you've got his mutation right except for I'd say he's dark green rather than light green.

I don't see any violet factors but if you're seeing a bit of a blue tinge near his vent feathers he's likely split for blue

I hope to see lots more of him around here in the weeks to come. Hopefully his presence will help you heal from the loss of sweet Lemon Drop

He's so handsome, and Peridot is a perfect name for a birdie his color.

Thanks so much for all your kind words. Peridot definitely helps with me missing Lemon Drop and feeling lonely.

StarlingWings, I did not know that a bird split for blue could show some of the blue. I guess that is why his belly has a bluish tinge to the green parts.

Yellow is a good color to have an attractive budgie in. Your bird has good color, trim weight, and many gooy years ahead of him. You also. He is your pet.

He is beautiful. I love the name Peridot for him that’s perfect for his coloring! Looking forward to seeing and hearing more about your new friend as he settles in, and you get to know each other.
