Default Got A New Budgie after 4 Years

Hey everyone I got a new pair of budgies... Wanted to know if anyone can tell the age of this male budgie.... He doesn't have the Iris Ring and doesn't have the stripes on the head also... I'm confused the breeder said he's not a baby.

It's because of his colouring. Certain mutations, like albino or pied, they don't get the iris ring. They keep their cute baby eyes their whole life! I'm not sure what mutation your little one is, but I'm sure someone like Star will be able to tell you

Your new baby is gorgeous!

I'm not totally sure on his gender, do you have any other pics?

However, I can tell you that this little one is a sky-blue cinnamon recessive pied greywing budgie, at first glance.

I'll be able to confirm with more photos Congrats on the new arrival!

To help ensure the health of your budgies' legs and feet as well as help prevent pressure sores, you'll want to add some natural wood perches instead of the plastic dowel rods.

Hey... Uploading some more pictures hope they'll help to tell the age. This is my pair. Green one is Coco and White one is Angel. Looking forward to making it a nice home for them. They've started to trust me now they eat from my hands in just 2 weeks.

It is impossible to tell the exact age without knowing the hatch dates, however there are things that point to age brackets. You can clearly see the iris ring in Coco's eyes so she is more than about 9 months old, beyond that you cannot tell the age, in younger birds the iris ring would not yet be noticeable and as already noted in some color mutations you will never see one. In the most recent pictures, maybe it's just the angle of the picture, but Angel's beak looks a bit long, do you have cuttlebone and or mineral blocks in the cage, not only do these provide a calcium and mineral source but they aid in the birds ability to keep the beak trimmed.

What a lovely little one!

So, Angel is actually a female

Since she is a recessive pied, she will never develop iris rings and will keep those big black baby eyes for her entire life.

Star mentioned her mutation as sky-blue cinnamon recessive pied greywing.....however, I don't think she's carrying the greywing mutation.

It's very rare that both greywing and cinnamon would appear on the same bird (but not impossible). It's not something that any good breeder would allow to happen since the greywing would completely wash out the cinnamon. Since your little girl has nice cinnamon markings, I'm going to say that greywing is not pressent.
