Smile Part of our mob - the cats

I'd like to introduce our three cats - Savoy, (Foreign White), his brother Castiel, (Siamese) and IO, (Black DSH), our girl whom chose us by walking into our home, after hanging around our garden for some months...

This is them both watching their 'Daddy person' going off to work...

This is when IO was still a bit feral.

...and this is when she made herself at home.

Susan,

Your three are beautiful.

I'll have to remember to show your pictures to my sister the next time she visits. She had Siamese cats for many years and is truly a "cat person".
She currently has one cat that she adopted after it began hanging around the houses in her neighborhood.

Wow Susan your cats are gorgeous! I absolutely love the Siamese body shape. Does Savory have the same shape? It's hard to tell when he's sitting, but from the face he looks a bit like Castiel.

I fantasize about having a Cornish Rex one day, which also has the long slim body type. How do you (or anyone with both) keep your birds safe from the cats? I'm not sure how I'd do it in the house.

You're Welcome and thank you, Starling...I love the blue of 'Siamese eyes', too.

Such pretty cats! If only I wasn't allergic
Thank you Katherine...that is a shame, but birdies are good.

Thank you Deborah...hope your sister likes them...wonderful she has a 'rescue', like IO...they make great pets.

Thank you, Julie...Savoy's head isn't quite as angular, large 'V' shape, as his brother's...but, he has a more pointed nose area...I love the Cornish Rex, too - would love a black coated one...James has built the cats an 'outdoor area' on our front verandah - they are there in the daytime and go into the family room at night... the budgies are out on the front verandah through the day and come into our bedroom at night, they're only in a smallish cage 'til Spring and then they will go out to the large outdoor cage...Flint spends most of his time in the office...it's a bit of 'juggling', but it works...

That set up and schedule for the cats and birds sounds like it works well for you Susan. I guess each household has it's own particular ways to responsibly keep their prey animals safe.

We hope to be able to get dogs again next year(?) so the dream of having a cat is just a dream for now and it might always be for me. Personally, I can't imagine keeping all 3 species. And I already have 7 birds . You can always show us your beautiful cat trio!
