Default Easy ice cream

Hey guys! Here's the time when most people enjoy eating ice cream, summer! Well, at least in my country! This recipe is pretty easy, the ice cream tastes delicious and there are a lot of variations. we'll need:

1 lt milk
1 sweetened condensed milk (ours is a 397g tin)
1 whipped cream mix (200g) vanilla or chocolate

Mix well the whipped cream mix and 3 cups of milk, using an electric mixer, for 6 minutes. Put it in the fridge for half an hour. Then pour in the sweetened condensed milk and 1 cup of milk and mix again well. Put it in the freezer. Every hour for four hours, mix it well (I just use a spoon). That's it! In the end, you'll have 2 litres of vanilla ice cream.
Now, the tastes. I personally don't like plain vanilla taste, I want something.. more. Be careful on the sugar! Make sure that the ingredients you'll add haven't got a lot of sugar, or else the ice cream will be too sweet.
During the last mix - the fourth time- you can add any ingredient you like- here's some flavours I have tried.

Chocolate strawberry

used chocolate whipped cream mix in the first place, added in the fourth mix chocolate chips and half a cup strawberry pouree, combined with a teaspoon of powdered sugar.

Coconut waffle

used vanilla whipped cream mix, and the last cup of milk I replaced with coconut milk. Added in the fourth mix waffle pieces.

Pistachios

Added in the fourth mix half a cup of finely chopped pistachios combined with 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar.

I'll wait for your ideas

Thanks Nick! I always feel better when I make this at home and feel free to use any ingredient you like! Besides these tastes, I have made peach ice cream, lemon, chocolate fudge and chocolate biscuit! Next time I'll use mastic powder and try to reach the flavour of the famous (for us here) kaimaki ice cream

I'm currently well stocked on ice cream, but I will surely be trying your recipe this Summer and will likely add a little caramel and/or crushed cookies into the mix!

When I used to make Ice Cream I had an ice cream churn and my favourite was passionfruit. Sorry I can't remember the recipe now as to amounts but it was a large container of passionfruit yoghurt, condensed milk, a couple of fresh passionfruit and a small amount of lemon juice to cut the sweetness. That was all put in the churn that had layers of ice and salt packed around the churn drum and turned on.

You could probably do it your way Despina by replacing the cream with the yoghurt and not as much milk. Would be less creamy but would be lovely and tangy.

Despina, that's a great recipe! We'll definitely have to try it, as we're huge ice cream fans over here

Thanks for sharing! This week it will be in the forties for the weather (Celsius), so we may have to go stock up on ice cream making ingredients!

Thanks Ana! I am looking forward to your opinion! Yes, a little caramel would be great, but not so much, I am afraid it will came out sweeter! I have tried crushed cookies and it's delicious!

I haven't tried yogurt flavour but I will because it's one of my favourite flavours! I'll replace the last cup of milk for a start and see if the ice cream stays soft after the fourth mix. If it does, I'll try it again and reduce more of the milk. I love passionfruit - what a great idea- sour cherries are not hard to find here so I'll try that! thanks!

Thanks Geneva! I hope you'll enjoy this! Oh God, 15 days ago we were suffering here too, 10 days of 39-40 C! Ice cream and ice teas were a must! I'll wait for your opinion!
