1 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup millet (or other favorite seed)
1 tsp. finely ground cuttlebone
2 TB raw wheat germ
2 TB honey
2 whole eggs
4 egg yolks
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place all ingredients into a bowl and mix well. The dough will be quite thick. Pat into a greased 8 x 8 baking pan (brownie pan). Bake for 30 minutes or until firm. (If edges get too brown before the middle is firm, cover with foil).
Cool and cut into squares.
I usually make a double batch and after they are cooled and cut, I store them in a freezer bag in the freezer. I then take one brownie out and thaw it in the microwave (about 10-15 seconds). I then mash the brownie into very small budgie "bite-size" pieces with a wooden rolling pin and put in their food dish. If I leave the pieces too big, they don't eat it as well.
