Are the chicks yellowface too? The yellow spread looks unusual for YF2 suggesting either double factor YF2 or goldenface.

I agree YF1. YF1 do have some spread into the chest/wings, but YF2 would change all the blue to a seafoam green or lime green colour which hasnt happened.

What colour is the tail? Black or deep deep blue? Any blue at all = mauve. Straight black = grey regardless of presence/absence of violet.

There are quite a few people who refer to pieds as clearwings. It is actually quite a visualised term if you think about it - any bird with no markings essentially has 'clear' wings.
