Tail quill definitely looks chocolate brown

Don't know if you'll be able to see in this photo, but in natural light the main tail quill is definitely brown. My greywings have silver looking quills. Thanks!

Ok not spangle, but is he cinnamon?

I really want to know because I'm trying to decide whether to put him in with my cinnamon opaline girl or with a regular green opaline girl. I'm including a picture of her below.

Is Chico a cinnamon spangle?

He's got light grayish brown wingtips and his barring is unusual too. His tail feathers are more of a slate blue than navy.

Not sure what you're saying above? But I have observed changes that also seemed to be related to Lafeber's pellets vs seed mix. Poop gets lighter and more runny. when put back on seed mix it becomes...

Here's our greywing cobalt violet spangle boy

We got "Don" at Petsmart 3 years ago and he was not this dark. Originally named him "Dawn" lol! As a greywing he will not be as dark as a reg cobalt violet. BTW he fathered 4 chicks. Hen was skyblue...

Here's a later pic of the littlest chick

She's a week older here. Her barring is not gray but there is more white blended in so it looks lighter.

Please help me identify chicks mutation

This is my smallest one. She is not a regular greywing like Dove, nor a spangle like her brothers. Her newborn down was white. She has very faint barring on the wings, neck and head. The pattern is...

Thank you, no mom isn't yellowfce

We see a hint of yellow in dads face occasionally. With him being a clear flight it doesn't appear on the wing feathers. One of the lightest babies looks like it is clear flight too, but the other...

Here's dad from behind

So please tell me if he's opaline. I see light purple on the back of his neck and shoulders but it might not show much in the photo.

Here are the chicks

Two are regular spangles I think. If the lighter two are opaline, that will mean they are female.....I think?

Here is another picture of the dad

He has a white patch on the back of his head like a pied and he has white wing tips. Pale blue/violet color is visible near the shoulders but not much.

Question Opaline spangle greywing cock with cinnamon hen

I have 4 chicks that are all blue spangle with yellow factor.
2 are a lot lighter but I am not sure this is because of the opaline characteristic. The cock is opaline but he's also greyywing.

It's really hard to tell if she has gray or light brown markings. They usually look gray to me. About the one chick she had, I now think it was a green opaline grey wing. It was definitely not...

Her eyes are solid black and I thought that was because of her age

Crystal does have white on her just not much. Yes her eyes are solid black, and my new bird's are too.

The picture below is my newest bird. Think he will be a good possible mate for Crystal or...

Thinking she could go with my Citron boy. But no hurry. She's timid and I think Still young. I'm sure she was stressed at the breeder.
