Yeah, I have the same feeling about him. He's veeeery light blue, but he lacks the typical turquoise sky blue shade. So maybe he could be a cobalt and someone even suggested a sky violet, which...

This could otherwise be true, but as the mother is sky blue violet and dad sky blue (and not violet), there isn't enough dark factor or violet genes to produce a DF violet mauve. :)

I will let...

This would still mean that first of all both parents would need to have a dark factor, which seems unlikely and as far as I know, the bird would still have dark violet/navy tail feathers and cheek...

It's hard to get a good picture of him, but I think I managed to get a few that at least look exactly the right color on the camera screen. But as we all have different settings on our computers, one...

Yep, this is what confused me even more. Even if I was mistaken and the baby would infact be a mauve, I would also have to be entirely mistaken...

I have a female that is probably a dominant pied (pattern looks like a typical dominant pied, but the other eye has no iris ring) and either greywing or clearwing (or full body color greywing)....

That's the weird thing - as mom isn't dominant pied, it couldn't be a double factor.

Got my better camera recharged and took a few more pictures. I don't know why I thought they both have the...

The two pieds now. Both have the dominant pied band, but otherwise don't look like typical dominant pieds to me. Or do they? Older one is the opaline pied and younger one non-opaline.

Any guesses...

But there is white visible with the grey in the wings which would suggest non-opaline even though the white...

What do you guys think? The baby has bright white down (dad is split to opaline for sure) and grey tailfeathers coming in. Wings are also fully grey and besides the tips of the quills that look a bit...
