After some discussion with the techs on my end, I got a firm answer that we can't make any special changes to how the site is viewed through Tapatalk. It's whole model is to uniform the experience across forums and doesn't allow customization from us.

If you are planning on sending a email to Taptalk, you should tell them that you want "notices" to show up for forums. That's how we advertise the Bird of the Month or other events

Found an error while poking around here, and while this thread wasn't about it, I want to have thing recorded somewhere.

So there is a mobile version of the site you can access with a mobile device, that we call the "Enhanced Mobile View". It's a more streamlined version of the site, and is a good alternative to apps. But it isn't working here, and I can't figure out what's wrong with it. Putting in a ticket for this.

Case #2767902

There is also the PetGuide App you can download, though it's layout is the same as the EMV

Happens to be in regards to the enhanced mobile version, I specifically stopped using it and started using Tapatalk since it was missing quite a few things (karma and a few forums like you said) and I would only use the desktop view if I went on through my browser, now when I try going on the enhanced mobile view it's glitches out and doesn't even load.
I have the petguide app downloaded on my phone but it never seems to let me login.
