Sorry for this unfortunate event lesley. Don't give up hope, do everything you can to get the word out in your area. Hopefully the three of them are hanging together which will make them easier to spot. Prayers for you to find them...:hug:

Hi Guys

Thanks for the messages of support. Unfortunately they haven't come back and no one seems to have rescued them. I haven't slept for worrying about them and the weather and where they are, I feel so guilty that it happened. Quite disturbingly I have had two crank phone calls from people saying they have found them which have turned out to be hoaxes, makes me wonder about humanity when people think this is acceptable. I live in Marske near Redcar if anyone hears of anything xxxx

Oh I'm so sorry how horrible people can be. Please don't lose hope there have been some success stories on here. I hope you get them back.

Aw, I'm sorry there's no good news, and wish I lived near enough to help you. People, eh? When you come across people like that, it makes you love our feathered and furry friends all the more. Don't feel guilty though, you didn't do anything deliberately cruel or wrong. Maybe you will still find them... A similar ish thing I know of (don't want go into detail to take up your thread) happened years ago, and about a week ish later, the budgie was found and had been looked after by a neighbouring family. So, good luck, and don't give up hope, or blame yourself.x

Sorry to hear this. Sadly budgies don't make it too long in the wild once they've escaped. Hopefully someone has managed to save them and they will turn up


As far as the prank calling is concerned, If you have the numbers you can go to the police with that- it falls under the law of missing persons too (animals), that is if your in Australia though.

I would ignore them if they are not legitimate and let them wallow in their self pitty of not having the pleasure of owning a budgie and making people feel terrible by lying about their whereabouts.

Missing budgies

Quick update unfortunately mine haven't been found. Since then I rescued another one that had to be put to sleep as a cat had gotten hold of it, and then another one which is fine. I now have 6 budgies and have ordered a new aviary with a safety door. I feel very sad that Ronnie, Bentley and Opal are gone, I now know they are not coming back. Glad to have rescued Noel though and hope to give her a happy and safe life. xx:budgie:

I'm sorry you lost the other budgies. There's always the chance that they were found and rescued by someone else not knowing how to contact anyone and are living a happy life.
