A gift from my wife :p

I was trying to get a close up but didn't succeed because they are to shy as soon as I enter the aviary they ran into the nest box

I know you know better than me what they are :D

Oh Chirper, they're so pretty!!!!! I have to admit, a tiny little squeal came out when I saw them. I love them! Have you picked out names for them yet?
Thank you :)

No names yet they are identical couldn't figure out how to differentiate between them so helpless right now :S

I sure do, a beautiful pair of fischer's lovebirds, quite possibly lutinos if their eyes are red! Congratulations on your latest arrivals!
Since they are new, it would be best to let them settle in and also get more acquainted with the species before adding the nest box into the cage. It's also not recommended to breed from two Inos or dark eyed clears. I have one of the latter and on my research found out these pairings aren't suitable and pastel/inos can also be troublesome when breeding with either full Inos or other pastels or dark eyed clears/Ino.
There is a much steeper learning curve when it comes lovebird keeping/breeding when compared to budgies.
Thank you Aluz :)

I totally agree with you that's why they are kept in separate cage

This is already a bonded and breeding pair

Out of coconut husk, paper and straws they choose straws to make the nest

The amazing things I observe that they pick a straw dip it in the water and chew that wet straw before taking it to the nest box to make the nest :p

Maybe getting them some different colored leg bands? Maybe even with your info on them in case they ever get lost or stolen.......and no, I'm not thinking of birdknapping them....................................yet, :p:spy::giggle:
At least now I know where to find them in case …

I wouldn't make it THAT easy to find them....lol. Maybe a secret bunker under my house! Or at an undisclosed location in an undisclosed country.....hahahaha We shall see.....but I suppose for now they can stay under your care, as good as it is!
Thanks :)

The plan is to work on at least one baby to have a bonded one like Aluz or Deborah if I get any :D

Wow...really beautiful bird's....
Congrat's, that is a fine gift, and very special to have your wife get them for you..:)
Thank you Randy off course very special :)

They're really beautiful Chirper :). Was she able to keep it a complete surprise? You know, because of the noise give away lol! Or did she tell you first and then went to pick them up? Looking forward to hearing all about them as time goes by and they settle in.

ps.. I'd have trouble too, with identical animals, unless there were distinguishing features that stood out! Or you just have to find a little something and look at them up close before saying their name lol!
Thank you Julie :)

No that was not a surprise we both went to a reputed breeder and she choose that pair

They are really beautiful. Deb, if you read this are they the same breed as Peachy Pie? They look like him.
They are lutinos for sure but I think they are Fischer's Lovebirds rather than Peachface Lovebirds.
I can't see their eyes well enough in the picture to tell for sure so we'd have to check with Chirper for a definitive answer on that one. ;)

Oh, I just saw in aluz's post she said they are Fishers. I guess she was able to see the picture better than I can. :giggle:
Yes Aluz is right they are Fischer lovebirds :)

I'm really sorry couldn't post the update never had such a shy birds before

Finally I am able to post some update :D

After seeing lots of straws in the nest box I thought the nest building task is completed but that was not final they separate every fibre of straw and made a very soft/fluffy concave for eggs and finally eggs :happy4:

See how the straws were before finalization

Final shape & eggs

Thank you Julie :)

Your eyes are perfect five of them are approximately of the same size it’s just the angle but the egg on the right side is a big one

In budgies I have seen first small egg from a first timer female but never a big one :D
