Bird Beak Wood Feather Flooring

Wood Chair Natural material Fawn Outdoor furniture

Hi friends! We got our first albino budgie last week and the pet store owner said she’s about 3 months old and believed she’s a girl but I know it’s harder to tell with albinos. Anyone know? Thanks!

Thank you! Nice to be here. We named her cookie. She’s still very shy but we’re working on taking her little by little.

Very cute name for your little one. I look forward to seeing more pictures of her in the future.
Do you agree she’s close to 3/4 months? She’s been slow to come around to us - I know patience is key but also know older birds are harder to tame. Here’s an updated pic.

Three to four months old is not considered "old" for a budgie. ;)

I have no way of determining her age from the pictures but if you got her at a pet store, chances are that she was a minimum of three months old when you got her.
She is ADORABLE!

Hello and welcome to the forums!

Cookie is precious :) She appears to be a lacewing budgie, as you can see pale brownish markings on her despite the fact that she's albino. As FaeryBee said, it's very hard to tell her age from those photos because some albino budgies do not develop irises and she has already seemed to have gone through her first moult. However, she does appear to be a young budgie based on the little bit of barring she sill has above her eyes.

Meanwhile, you've come to a great place to learn even more about the best of budgie care practices. Please be sure to read through the links provided above to ensure you're up to date on everything! If you have any questions afterwards, please be sure to ask as we'd love to help.

Hope to hear updates soon! 👋
