I have a 30 day old parakeet that has red eyes and snow white feathers. How rare is this. I'm a hobby breeder and new to this forum.

They are quite common in most areas :) If neither parent are albino your little chick is a female :)
Ah! Like red cats in genetic inheritance! I understand now. Thank you for that
little bit of educational information :)

thanks for responding. Kinda freaked me out at first. just as she started to feather. No neither parent is albino.

Then she is definatley a little girl! congrats! this just means the male is split. Good luck! have you named her yet?
It's not to rare of a mutation, there are to forms of it, Lutino, and Albino are the same mutation. one is yellow based and the other white based.

We little albino's are BEAUTIFUL!
Our Pekoe is albino and we just love her!
