Hello everyone! I just made an account here and it would be extremely appreciated if I could receive some advice. I recently purchased a budgie from a local pet store. The lady there said that the budgie I had purchased was approximately seven months old, and had her wings clipped. I named her Ripley, as I am a bit of a science fiction nerd. I brought her home, and she immediately flew to one of the perches and has stayed there since. That night I had covered her cage with a very thin blanket. This morning I heard fluttering around, and when I opened the cage, she was on top of one of her toys. No food or water has been taken. She has not moved for the past seven hours, and I'm a little nervous. Is this just her being scared? Inside her cage, I have two perches, two toys, a bath, a cuttlebone, and food and water. Is there anything else that she needs? Another question I had is regarding cleaning the bottom of her cage. There is some poop, and I was wondering how I should go about taking care of it. The cage does not have a slid out bottom. Should I just let her out while I clean it, or would that be a poor idea?
