Yes, Pete, I wish I could keep her but she has a family to go back to. I now know why they're called lovebirds ... you can't help LOVING them.hno: I was really hoping you would find a way of maybe keeping her, you've obviously become very attached to her and she really is a little cutie

Wow, that's amazing how they have worked out how to use the toys like that. I can see how easy it would be to teach them little games. I tap my finger away from April and she runs to it and pecks it gently. I do it on the opposite side of her away from her and she runs there to do peck it again. She reminds me of a puppy so much for real! Especially when she follows me around on the floor if I don't return to her in time. And how cute it their little hop de hop they do when walking!!!I'm glad you had lots of fun bird sitting April, and yes lovebirds are very smart and I'm amazed at how their brains work. They are able to make use of utensils without us ever teaching them. I have seen many times mine using a flat surface of a toy to eat their sunflower seeds (making it like a plate), none of my budgies have ever shown this type of innate resourcefulness.
It's also great that the chirps no longer bother you and you have grown to like them!![]()
That is just seriously TOO CUTE FOR WORDS!!!!YES!!! I call that their happy hopping, they look like bunnies!
My Khaleesi also follows my every move, even when he is on the cage and we truly are inseparable. After he takes a bath he even comes to me to dry himself and rubs his wet face and tummy on my shirt and also asks for cuddles.
When I get out of the shower he always wants to come out of the cage to preen my hair dry, making it hard for me to brush my hair.
Thanks Deb. I hope she enjoyed her stay and being spoilt like crazy. And I have a new appreciation for lovies for sureMadonna,
It's obvious that little April has stolen your heart. :lovers:
Once you've experienced that sort of bond with a cute little lovie you'll never be the same.
I know you are going to miss her -- April was very fortunate to have such a wonderful "vacation" with you the past few days.
Thanks Jill. I have enjoyed her so much.aww too badI'm glad you got to enjoy this time with her!!
