I bought 2 budgies who are siblings from this lady who seem like she doesn't know what she is doing. She says they are 8 weeks old but now I feel like they might not be 8 weeks old. The budgies keep bobbing their head which makes me feel like they are not weaned and they are bobbing their head to ask their "parent" for food. The lady also messed up these poor budgies wings. She clipped so much that they crash land when they fly.
She grabs the budgies and allow her children to grab them as well, which makes them so scared of humans. I haven't grabbed them and encourage them to step up on to me. They usually try to get as far as possible from me, but that is fine since I want them to know that I am not going to force them to do anything they don't want.
I don't see the budgies eating their pellets or millet or drinking their water. My city has no avian vet so I can not bring them to a vet. Please help let me know how I can tell if they are weaned or not.

Hi and :welcome: to Talk Budgies!

Unfortunately, it sounds as if you've gotten off to a very rocky start with your budgies. How long have you had them now?

Try offering them some millet seed in a shallow dish on the floor of the cage to see if they are able to eat it.

I'd take a look at this link regarding hand-feeding and weaning:

Hi there, and welcome to TB! There are tons of resources here on these type of problems, I'm so sorry this lady doesn't know how to properly take care of budgies.
However, I know you are trying to do the best for your babies, and there is no better place to find out info!
If they seem scared (which they probably are) I would cover their cage on three sides with a light sheet to make them feel more secure, play soft music for them and sit by their cage a lot so they can get used to the idea that you are there but won't hurt them.
Please post pictures when you can, we'd love to see them, and we're always happy to help with any other questions or concerns :)
