i've been to a vet a week ago to have a general check up done on my female budgie as i noticed she has very waterypoops and she was sleeping more than usual. moving onto now, i have been giving her 3 different types of medicine as prescribed by the doc everyday but up till now i'm still seeing very watery poops from her till a point where sometimes just lots of urine & urate comes out from her. i'm getting super worried bout her and furthermore it is not helping as she has also been picky and refusing any fruits or veges im giving her. pls help me out

What was the diagnosis by the vet and what are the meds she is on, were any tests done?

he said he can't really pinpoint as to what she exactly has but he says she has healthy lungs and breathing but is malnutrioned and has symptoms of parrot fever but at the end he didn't give us a sure answer. adding on, he said he cld run a few tests to find out the exact problem but he wasnt 100% sure to carry it out and he talked about the extra charges that could count in our bill if we took any of the tests he mentioned. he prescribed me doxy/baytril(antibiotics), beafort(supplement) and scourban syrup for treatment of diarrhea(contains antibiotics) + a feeding supplement powdery thing to force feed her
If it is parrot fever, a/k/a Psittacosis or Chlamydiosis it needs a 45 days treatment with the Doxy, if it is not a bacterial issue and perhaps is a fungal issue an antibiotic is not the correct medicine. At least a gram stain test on the droppings should be done to see the bacterial count and it can also show if there are other organisms there that should not be present. Is she eating?

hmm all along she doesn't eat much, so before i feed her the medicine i tend to bring the foodbowl in front of her to to makesure she eats. but other than that she does occasionally eat by herself but she eats super little. i also try to give her fresh fruits n vegetables but she always refuses to eat any and the only thing she accepts to eat is small pieces of bread.
That is not good, bread is not a complete diet and not good if she has a fungal infection. What do you offer her seeds, pellets etc? Do you know how much she weighs, for a bird that is not eating much it is important to monitor the weight with a gram scale.

oh no.. last we checked at the vet she was 25g. for now, i'm only offering seeds. i used to include the zupreem fruit blend in along with their seeds as recommended by the seller and they just never really eat it, tried to handfeed them with it too but they don't seem to be able to eat it. so after that, my parents kinda just decided not to buy it anymore n we threw away the whole pack as they were starting to spoil. i've been thinking abt buying pellets for her w my own money but i hv no idea what type would be good for her
25 grams is very small, try to give her an assortment of seeds and some spray millet. Without even the most basic of tests there is no way to know if the meds she is getting are the correct ones for whatever the problem is. Was it an avian vet that saw her, it is important to update the vet on her lack of progress in case something needs to be changed.

ok, will do! the website stated 'interest in Avian (Birds) medicine/health but is NOT an avian specialist clinic.' i was planning to go to another avian clinic as my country only has 2 but the other was fully booked n her condition seemed to be worsening so i took her to this vet. saw the reviews and it was quite positive in the avain aspect based on the recent ones
