Hi, I'm new to this forum. I'm hoping someone can give me some info on an English Budgie that I have. She is 4 yrs. old. I've noticed that she always seemed to have a wild feather sticking out somewhere. I've plucked these unruly feathers at times. Lately, however, she seems to have a lot more of these messy feathers sticking out all over. She reminds me of the "Feather Duster" budgies. I'm attaching a couple of pics of her. She is very sweet and seems perfectly healthy except for the feathers sticking out all directions.

Welcome to the forum

She is too old for it to be french moult unless she has always had it.
She could be plucking at the feathers herself from boredom or she could have mites

Thanks for your input, but I don't think she plucks or has mites. I don't think it's nutritional either since she is one of my 14 English Budgies and they all eat the same foods. I try to give a variety of fresh veggies along with their seed/pellet diet. I'm really wondering if it may be a genetic disorder??
