Just wanted to introduce another family member of mine, my Red-footed tortoise Buster! I got him when he was a baby because he was way too adorable to pass up, and life has been an adventure ever since!
He started out as Pebbles, the oh-so-cute little girl that fit in the palm of my hand. She was shy at first, but soon warmed up to the good life, and took her place in my heart as Princess Pebbles!
As she grew up, I took my little princess outside often to forage for bugs and worms, and all those little crawling yummies helped her grow into Princess Pebbles, The Diva! She was so spoiled that at times she would throw all her greens into her water dish if they were not topped with fresh wild flowers!
When she no longer fit into her baby tank, I bought her a bigger one, and adorned her new palace with lush greenery befitting a woman of her stature.
It wasn't long after that she hit her "teens" and began spending every waking moment bulldozing through the plants, tearing up the substrate, and banging into the wall nonstop... It was then she revealed to me that Princess Pebbles the Diva was actually MR BUSTER, DESTROYER OF WORLDS!!
I took all the pretty things out of his tank and went back to a simpler way of life, but still made sure to supply him with good food and lots of time outside. He still retains his (sometimes demanding) Diva status to this day, but I've never once regretted my decision to open my home and my heart to this little dirt-covered, worm-chomping tortoise!
