Here I am...posting yet another post...Sorry for posting so many!
I just would like to know as much as I can to be a better owner and breeder.

So now that we know that we have TOO many females compared to our males, we need to purchase two more.

Since I will be looking to breed my birds, what do you think would go best with my females? (Meaning what traits, colorations, mutations, should I be looking out for).

Lux
Yellowface Type II
Sky Blue
Cinnamon

Vox
White Based
Mauve
Opaline
Possible Spangle
DF Dominant Pied
Clearflight Pied

Skittles
Yellowface II
Sky Blue
Split for ino (I'm thinking albino, but don't hold me to it)
Opaline
Dominant Pied SF
Clearflight Pied

Applez
Yellow Base
Olive
Opaline
Cinnamon

I know silly! I was just curious, if I was to get two new males :p I don't have the cage space for them anyway (at the moment). The cage thing is a different story though...I have a whole new cage reserved for Tuesday! YAY! But like I mentioned to Zeena, the camera is dead for the moment.

ooh! lol I didn't want you to buy more and be like oops again :D
No. I think my fiance would skin me if he came home and found another set of birds! He's always like "Another one? Oh...alright..." He's so wonderful :D I just like to fantasize about the outcomes. It helps me be patient while I'm waiting for everything to fall into place. And next time....if I do buy some males, I'm hopefully going to look for some BRIGHT blue ceres. NO mistake there!

It would be helpful to know what you are looking to breed. If you are looking for the sexlinked genes suck as opaline, cinnamon or ino you will need a male with those genes. Dominant genes like spangle, clearwing and yellow face type two you only need one parent that is showing these genes to produce chicks with the mutation. And recessive genes like blue need either two parents showing the gene or both split for the gene. Good luck.
